We exist to make ambitious systems buildable.

Constraints first. The interesting information in any brief is what cannot change — the regulation, the legacy system that will not be replaced, the budget, the team that has to run it afterwards. Design that ignores those produces beautiful proposals and nothing else.

Fewer moving parts. Complexity is a cost paid every month by whoever maintains the system. We spend it deliberately, where the problem genuinely requires it, and not for the pleasure of the architecture.

Say the uncomfortable thing early. If a plan will not work, the cheapest moment to say so is the first one. We would rather lose an engagement at the scoping stage than deliver something we argued against.

The three words on our mark are not a slogan; they describe three distinct kinds of work, and most engagements are one of them rather than all three.

Invent is the work of turning an idea into something specific enough to be argued with — a prototype of the risky part, an architecture, a scope with the trade-offs written down.

Build is engineering: interfaces, data models, services and the tests, pipelines and monitoring that make a system operable by people other than its authors.

Scale is what happens once reality has arrived — performance, cost, reliability and operations tuned against measured load rather than a forecast.

We are not neutral about technology, but we are not romantic about it either. New tools earn their place by solving a problem the current ones cannot, not by being new.

On AI specifically: it is genuinely a change in what software can do, and it is also the subject of more overstatement than any technology in a generation. Both things are true. Our position is to build the parts that work, measure them, and be direct about the parts that do not.

We do not publish client names, logos or testimonials, and we do not quote outcome metrics we cannot evidence. Work done under confidentiality stays that way, and a percentage on a website is not a substitute for a conversation about your own situation.

We do not take percentage-of-savings arrangements on cost work, because they create an incentive to find large numbers rather than correct ones. And we hand over code, infrastructure definitions, documentation and credentials as a matter of course — the ability to leave is part of what you are buying.

JANNEX is built to move from services to solutions to platforms and, in time, to products. That direction shapes how we work now: reusable engineering, written-down decisions, and a preference for systems we would be willing to run ourselves.
